We Have No Proof —
Every non-alcoholic drink worth pouring
Why we started
We love going out for a proper drink — a bitter Negroni on a big cube, a cold spritz at the end of a long day. When drinking stopped being an option for us, we didn't want to lose that. What we found was a huge, confusing shelf: hundreds of non-alcoholic spirits, aperitifs, wines and beers, most of them reviewed by the people selling them.
We Have No Proof is the guide we wanted: every non-alcoholic drink worth pouring, in one place, with honest ratings, clear flavor profiles, and real recipes made with bottles you can actually buy.
How we rate
Ratings from across the web. Each drink's score is a rough average of what people say about it on retailers, Untappd, Vivino and brand stores. We weight each source by how many people rated it, count brands' own sites for less (they skew high), and pull drinks with only a handful of ratings toward the middle so a few 5-star reviews can't top the list. Every source is listed and linked on the drink's page.
Our take. Where we've tasted something ourselves, you'll see "Our take" — our own score and a note, dated. We only write one when we've actually poured it.
Flavor profiles. Every drink is scored from 0 to 5 on eight scales — bitter, sweet, sour, herbal, citrus, fruit, spice and body — so you can compare a gin alternative to an aperitif at a glance, and so "if you like this" suggestions are based on taste, not marketing.
How our guides are written
Each guide starts from what people actually search for — "non-alcoholic Negroni", "Campari alternative", "virgin mojito" — and answers it with the bottles in our catalogue. We name specific products, say plainly when a category is thin, and never invent ratings, awards or prices. Recipes are house recipes we'd make ourselves, unless they're credited to someone else.
How we make money
Some links on this site are affiliate links: if you buy through them, the shop may pay us a small commission, at no extra cost to you. Those links are marked, and they go through our own /go/ links so we can see what's useful.
We also sell paid features — a spot on the homepage, a placement in a guide, a newsletter mention — to brands, bars and shops. Those are always labelled Sponsored.
What money can't buy is a rating. Commissions and paid features never change a score, a ranking or "our take", and shops are listed by price, lowest first, whether or not they pay us.
